54 Dans ces créations le raphia est l’unique vedette. L’occa- 55
sion pour lui de révéler sa grâce sous des facettes infinies
en jouant avec les méthodes. Le voilà tressé, noué, tissé
pour inventer les motifs les plus originaux : écaille, dia-
mant, damier ajouré, joyau...
En préservant ces techniques artisanales, le maître arti-
san rappelle ainsi qu’il est avant tout créateur.
Raffia is the one and only star in these creations. The op-
portunity for it to reveal its grace through infinite facets by
playing with methods. Here it is braided, knotted, woven to
invent the most original patterns: tortoiseshell, diamond,
openwork checked, gem ...
By preserving these artisanal techniques, the master crafts-
man reminds us that he is above all a creator.
